COVENTRY HALL

Humanities Department

The oldest building on campus, Coventry Hall is the original site of King's Cross University. While it has seen many renovations and additions, the original foundation remains. With ten lecture halls and forty classrooms, Coventry Hall is the main building for Humanities studies in Literature, Anthropology, Philosophy, and Linguistics. It also contains faculty housing in the east wing and housing for the new human students in the west wing.

THE SANCTUM

Sacred Ground

Built a year after the school's founding, St. Michael's Church has served as a gathering place for the students and faculty of King's Cross for almost four centuries. The church has been through two fires: the first in 1864 and the second in 1902. After the second, the site was cleansed and cleaned, but the Council decided not to repair. Now known as The Sanctum, the church is mostly used for ceremonies and events.

SCULPTURE GARDEN

Green Space

The sculpture garden is a year-round joint project between the Botannical and Plant Biology department and the Visual Arts department. While students studying plant biology monitor to ensure perennial blooms and growth, the sculpture installations are curated by studio art majors. It is a popular spot for studying and meditation exercises, or simply to commune with Nature.

THE GREEN

Green Space

The Green comprises the large swath of green space surrounding The Sanctum. Its path is a circle, the offshoots of which lead to various areas of campus. It serves as a gathering space and a place to relax between classes, whether to read up on the history of Portuguese literature, or to pick up a game of Frisbee. Areas are referred to as the north green, south green, west green, and east green, or more informally as the face of a clock, e.g. "I'll meet you at the ten."

HEROUX LIBRARY

Main Library

Having undergone construction in 2005 to build a new facility from the ground up, Heroux Library is the largest library on campus. It is known not only for its extensive first-edition literature collection, but also for its state-of-the-art computer labs. The top floor is comprised of meeting and conference rooms, which students and faculty can reserve for study groups or class presentations. Not visible from the outside, the library also has three sub-levels for the storage of rare books and tomes of magical importance. These areas are carefully monitored to prevent unauthorized access. The library also offers direct entrance from The Catacombs.

MENDEL HALL

Science Department

Built in the 1960s, Mendel Hall houses the university's Science department. From Geology to Theoretical Physics, Biological Engineering to Artificial Intelligence, students studying the sciences at King's Cross are on the cutting edge of their fields. The building features classrooms, lecture auditoriums, office space, and dedicated research labs. Faculty in these departments are not only expected to teach the principles of their fields, but to actively advance the study of them. (Please note that courses in Astronomy and Astrophysics are held in The Observatory.)

PENROSE HALL

Media & Mass Communication

The Media and Mass Communication Center was established in 1970 and moved into Penrose Hall in 2010. Students pursuing media studies will embark on an intensive journey from the history of print media to the efficacy of today's social media usage. Graduates of the university's Media & Mass Communication program have gone on to have very lucrative careers in journalism, media management, corporate communications, and public relations.

Astor Hall

Business & Marketing

Astor Hall is the second oldest building on campus and was once used as a dormitory for the university's students. It was gutted in the late 1990s and fully renovated for use by the Business and Marketing School. King's Cross has long been considered the standard for education in Business, with many graduates going on to complete their MBAs and become titans of global commerce.

Art Department & Gallery

The Art department's unique building was constructed in 2016 and was designed by former student, Gregor de la Croix — great-great-grandson of Nyssa de la Croix, who was one of the original founders of the university. It houses a museum gallery with rotating exhibitions, as well as studio space for those studying the studio arts.
